Police escorts to help Jaja Santiago get from Binan to Pasig in time for V-League game

BINAN — Hoping to make it to her second match in one afternoon, Foton Pilipinas middle blocker Jaja Santiago will be escorted by the Highway Patrol Group from Laguna to Pasig City.

Foton Pilipinas team manager Joma Angulo confirmed that Santiago will be accompanied by the HPG to the PhilSports Arena for National University's match against University of the Philippines in the V-League after Foton’s match against Kazakhstan’s Altay VC in the Asian Women’s Club Championship at the Alonte Sports Center in Binan.

Foton's match started at 1:30 p.m., and NU's match is scheduled to start at 4 o'clock.

"She will leave right after the match and HPG will escort her," Angulo told SPIN.ph while the team was warming up.

The Foton team manager added Santiago plans to take the skyway route then C-5 on the way to the Pasig arena.

Santiago started for Foton, and she indicated earlier that she would ask to leave early if she feels she would miss NU’s match.

NU is gunning for a sweep of UP in the best-of-three semifinals series in V-League.
