Hope Christian sustains dominance in girls volleyball with two league titles in three months

HOPE Christian High School continued to make strides in girls volleyball in Metro Manila and surrounding areas after ruling two recent tournaments.

Hope Christian captured the Moleskine Crosscourt Volleyball Tournament recently after defeating St. Scholastica College in the championship match at the San Beda gym, before also taking the League of Southern Manila Schools title with a win over La Salle-Lipa.

No less than volleyball superstar Alyssa Valdez and Meralco cager Baser Amer handed the Moleskine trophy to the Hope squad that also had Chenae Basarte claiming the MVP award in the two tournaments.

Basarte was joined by Mycah Go in the Mythical Six of the Moleskine tournament, and Kim Estenzo in the Mythical Six of the League of Southern Manila Schools competition.

“In a span of three months, we were able to win two titles and two runner-up finishes. We are happy with the progress of our volleyball program,” said Hope Christian High School team manager Bernard Yang.

The team is coached by Jerry Yee and also composed of Cristy Ondangan, Princess Maulana, Krich Macaslang, Angelika Mondejar, Sofia Navarro, Ethan Arce, Jasmine Ferrer, Jeza Enclona, Chelsea Retuerto, Ankhrisia Lero, and Anaiah Samaniego.

Major supporters of the Hope volleyball program are Dr. Cecilio K. Pedro of Hapee and Dexter Lim of Infinite Graphix.
