FAR Eastern University dragged Adamson University to a rubber match after a thrilling 21-25, 27-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-11 win in the second match of the best-of-three semifinals in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.

Third year middle blocker Czarina Carandang put on a show with 20 points for the Lady Tamaraws, while Toni Rose Basas added 16 and Jeanette Villareal added 10.

FEU snapped Adamson’s six-match winning run, forcing a series decider on Monday.

“Still kicking pa, 'yun naman talaga ang plano kaya kailangan 'yung adaptation sa game plan namin dapat lang masunod,” said FEU coach George Pascua, who kept reminding his wards to calm down.

“Kasi and character ng team before, pag dating ng 20 (points), 'yung crucial, doon sila bumimigay, kaya as much as possible ma-feel nila na kailangan hindi ma-rattle, hindi mag-commit ng unforced errors,” he added.

It was close match in attacks (52-61 in favor of Adamson), while both teams had the same number of blocks (8-8) and service aces (8-8) but the Lady Falcons’ errors helped the Lady Tamaraws score the win (43-29) in the two-hour and nine-minute match.

Chiara Permentilla and Ely Soyud led the way for Adamson with 20 points apiece, while May Roque and Joy Dacoron added 12 markers each.
