Air Force beats Cignal in straight sets to stretch streak to three and gain share of PVL lead

AIR Force sent Cignal crashing back to earth with a 30-28, 25-19, 25-21, win in the men's division of the Premier Volleyball League Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.

What was expected to be a tight match turned out to be a quick one, the Jet Spikers winning in an hour and 23 minutes to halt the HD Spikers’ three-match win run.

National University standout Fauzi Ismail led Air Force with 15 points, while national team member Ranran Abdilla and Jeffrey Malabanan finished with 10 markers each.

Air Force cruised to its third consecutive win to tie its victim (3-1) at the No. 1 spot.

National pool member mark Alfafara led Cignal with 12 points, while Rex Intal, Ysay Marasigan and Lorenzo Capate had nine markers apiece.
