Unfinished uniforms force V-League organizers to move back opening by a week

THE opening of the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference has been moved back a week from its original date owing to the unfinished players’ uniforms.

Instead of a July 4 opening, the V-League will comes off the wraps on July 11 and the Spiker’s Turn kicks off two days later on July 13, organizers said.

“Hindi pa kasi tapos ang uniforms,” Sports Vision officials told to Spin.ph.

The organizing committee gave Accel, the official outfitter, more time to finish the jerseys of the 24 participating teams, 12 for V-League and 12 for the Spikers’ Turf.

Back-to-back UAAP champion Ateneo, University of Santo Tomas, National University, University of the Philippines, NCAA champion Arellano, San Sebastian College, College of St. Benilde, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Technological Institute of the Philippines, La Salle Dasmarinas and University of Batangas are among the teams seeing action in the Collegiate Conference.

Meanwhile, reigning UAAP title holder Ateneo, La Salle, National University, Far Eastern University, University of the Philippines, La Salle Dasmarinas, Emilio Aguinaldo College, College of St. Benilde, Arellano, Mapua and National College of Business and Arts, complete the cast in the Spikers’ Turf.

As of post time, UST has yet to confirm if it will be joining the Spikers’ Turf due to conflict of schedule.
