San Beda overcomes TIP Lady Engineers in four sets in PVL Collegiate Conference opener
Cesca Racraquin and the  Lady Red Spikers encounter some resistance from the Lady Engineers.

SAN Beda College defeated Technological Institute of the Philippines, 25-13, 25-18, 25-27, 25-13, in its opening match in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.

Cesca Racraquin scored 19 points, Satrriani Espiritu added 18 and Viray twins Nieza and Jiezela combined for 25 markers for San Beda.

San Beda is tied with NCAA champion Arellano University.

SBC coach Nemesio Gavino Jr. said the matchs shouldn't have lasted that long, but the players relaxed when they felt the game was in the bag.

So 'yun ang kailangan i-improve ng team,” said Gavino.

Gavino said there are some improvements from NCAA Season 92, but expects the players to continue to work harder ahead of the collegiate season.

Alyssa Layug scored 13 points for TIP, while Ashley Jinon added 10.
