ALREADY reeling from the gruesome injury on star player Ara Galang, De La Salle suffered yet another blow after Camille Cruz hurt her right knee on Wednesday in Game One of the UAAP Season 77 women’s volleyball finals.

The veteran Cruz injured her knee after attempting an attack in the third set of the game which the Lady Spikers lost in straight sets, 25-18, 25-19, 25-19.

The pain was so great Cruz's scream was heard even in the television coverage.

Shortly after the match, Cruz exited the Smart Araneta Coliseum in crutches. She was later brought to the Makati Medical Center for an MRI, although La Salle officials are keeping their fingers crossed the injury wouldn’t be serious.

“Baka sprain pero dadalhin sa ospital for an MRI,” a La Salle official said.

Cruz though had a history of ACL injuries in the past.

The injury on Cruz compounded La Salle’s problems as the school already lost Galang for the rest of the finals due to tears in her ACL, MCL, and meniscus, as well as a bone bruise on her left knee.

Galang appeared in Game One to support her team but to no avail as the Lady Eagles cruised to the three-set win.
