NATIONAL University overcame Far Eastern University, 19-25, 25-13, 24-26, 25-20, 18-16, on Saturday in the UAAP volleyball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Bryan Bagunas had 27 points including two blocks and four aces as the Bulldogs grabbed a share of the top spot with idle Ateneo with a 7-1 win-loss record.

Kim Malabunga hit a service ace for the win, handing the Tamaraws their second loss in eight matches.

Izmail Fauzi scored 14 and James Natividad added 13 points, respectively, for NU.

Jude Garcia paced the Tamaraws with 15 points with 13 spikes, while Redijohn Paler had 14 markers.

Meanwhile, Adamson trounced University of the East, 25-20, 20-17, 25-15.

The Falcons improved to a 3-5 card while the Warriors remained winless in eight games.

Adamson’s Leo Miranda led all scorers with 12 points, while John Yude and Paolo Pablico each chipped in 11.
