FAR Eastern University scored a 25-14, 25-18, 27-25 victory over also-ran University of the East on Wednesday to snap a two-match skid and keep its Final Four hopes alive in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament.

It was the Lady Tamaraws' sixth win in 12 matches.

Bernadeth Pons and Jeanette Villareal scored 11 points apiece for FEU.

They remain in sixth spot with a 6-6 win-loss record, with two matches left — against National University and University of the Philippines — in their elimination-round schedule.

The idle Lady Maroons and Lady Bulldogs are tied for third with University of Sto. Tomas at 7-5.

“Medyo mabigat pa ang pagdadaanan namin,” said FEU coach Shaw delos Santos. “Syempre una sa Saturday muna against NU, doon muna kami magfofocus.”

The Lady Warriors hold a 1-11 card, just a notch above winless Adamson.

The Lady Warriors had a chance to extend the match, a 6-2 run putting them ahead, 24-23, but simply lacked the finishing kick.

Judith Abil’s attack sailed long, to open the door again for FEU.

Remy Palma blocked Seth Rodriguez and a Mary Anne Mendrez outside kill handed the win to FEU.

Shaya Adorador scored 11 points for UE.
