UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas remained unbeaten in five outings and clinched the first semis slot in the UAAP Season 79 women’s beach volleyball tournament on Monday at the Sands SM By the Bay.

Sisi Rondina and Jem Gutierrez beat the National University tandem Roma Doromal and Aiko Urdas of National University, 21-18, 21-16

Far Eastern University's Bernadeth Pons and Kyla Atienza moved closer to the semifinals as it stretched its winning run to four after losing to defending champion La Salle in the opener.

Pons and Atienza defeated University of the Philippines' Diana Carlos and Arielle Estrañero, 21-16, 21-8.

Reigning MVP Kim Fajardo suited up for the match for the first time and replaced Desiree Cheng to team up with Ernestine Tiamzon as La Salle dominated Adamson University's Jema Galanza and Bernadette Flora, 22-24, 21-16, 15-13.

Ateneo's Michelle Morente and Kim Gequillana beat University of the East's Judith Abil and Angelica Dacaymat, 21-13, 21-10.
