No reason to celebrate yet, says Jovielyn Prado as Arellano makes it back to finals

ARELLANO University spiker Jovielyn Prado says making it back to the finals of the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament is no cause for celebration.

The defending champion Lady Chiefs scored a quick win over the Jose Rizal University in the Final Four, but Prado says work does not end until they get past San Beda in the best-of-three title series.

It was a much different mood for the Lady Red Spikers, who celebrated booking their first-ever trip to the finals.

“Hindi po muna namin ice-celebrate kasi hindi pa po namin nakukuha ‘yung talagang aim namin, ang goal namin is mai-defend ang title namin so pag-aaralan pa po muna namin sila,” said Prado.

The graduating hitter stressed she hopes to deliver again for her alma matter before she leaves.

“Masaya po kasi ito na ulit eh, konting push na lang po makukuha na namin ang inaasam-asam namin,” she said.

“Sobrang importante po syempre kasi para sa mga maiiwan namin for at least may maiwan ako pagkatapos ko sa playing year ko,” she added.

The opener of the finals is on February 16.
