ATENEO kept proving doubters wrong as the Lady Eagles inched closer to the Final Four of the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament.

The former two-time champion took the No. 2 spot with a 7-3 win-loss record, behind idle league leader La Salle (8-2), and needs only two more wins to clinch a semifinal berth.

The Lady Eagles’ standing is a far cry from their 0-2 start - their worst start in 11 years - and laid to rest the off-season controversy that hounded the team.

“I guess for teams naman, there will always be up and downs. Sana we went past that down na,” said skipper Maddie Madayag.

Ateneo is on a roll, defeating its first round tormentors Far Eastern University and National University in straight sets before disposing University of the East in four, 25-14, 18-25, 25-13, 25-18.

But Madayag pointed out that they must keep their focus despite an impressive run.

“Wala talagang complacency, we’re not gonna be complacent with the teams, because everybody's like magka-level,” she said.

Ateneo will face Adamson on March 25, University of Santo Tomas on April 4, University of the Philippines on April 7 and La Salle on April 15.
