ATENEO marched into the Final Four of the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament after turning back University of Santo Tomas, 25-22, 20-25, 16-25, 25-17, 15-9, on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.

Kat Tolentino and Jhoana Maraguinot scored 21 each as the Lady Eagles improved its win-loss record to 9-3 for their eighth straight semis appearance, joining three-peat seeking La Salle, which earlier advanced with a 9-2 record.

“We really trusted our training and in our teammates, and seeing it show on the court is such a blessing. We're just super happy and excited to have this opportunity again,” said Tolentino.

Skipper Maddie Madayag added 11 for the Lady Eagles in the two-hour and eight-minute match.

Sisi Rondina finished with 21 points for UST, while Tin Francisco and Fil-Italian recruit Milena Alessandrini each had 10 markers.

Ateneo put UST in a precarious situation as it slid to 4-8 at the sixth spot. A win by National University (6-5) will eliminate UST and University of the Philippines (3-8).
