ATENEO defeated Far Eastern University, 25-21, 25-22, 25-16, to sweep its way to the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference men's volleyball title on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.

Marck Espejo, who was named Conference and Finals MVP, finished with 20 points for the Blue Eagles, who also disposed the Tams in Game One, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19, on Wednesday.

"Unang-una, this is just a stepping stone and our main goal is the UAAP,” said Ateneo coach Oliver Almadro.

Gian Glorioso added 10 markers for Ateneo, while Isa Polvorosa dished out all of the team’s 30 excellent sets.

Meanwhile, University of Santo Tomas settled for the third place at the expense of undermanned National University, 21-25, 30-28, 28-26, 25-21.

Joshua Umandal and Manuel Medina had 15 points apiece for UST, while Tyrone Carodan and Juren Buro added 14 and 10 markers, respectively.

Madzlan Gampong registered 20 points for NU, while skipper Francis Saura added 16 and Berhashidin Daymil chipped in 11.

The Bulldogs again played without UAAP beach volleyball players Bryan Bagunas, James Nativisad and Fauzi Ismail.
