KOREA handily beat India, 25-18, 25-17, 25-11, on Tuesday for its first win in the second round of the 2015 Asian Under-23 Women’s Volleyball Championship at the Philsports Arena.

Soyoung Lee scored 19 points from 14 spikes, one block and four service aces, while also registering four digs and seven excellent receptions.

Hyejin Ha and Hyeri An contributed eight markers apiece, while Yerim Go added seven in the match that lasted one hour and 21 minutes.

Korea skipper Songwa Cho scored three points and had nine of the team’s 15 excellent sets.

Team captain Muraleedharan Shyamala Poornima finished with 13 points, while Nirmala contributed six markers for India, which went winless in three matches for last spot in Pool F and will face Pool E top seed Japan in the crossover quarterfinals.
