Arellano Lady Chiefs advance to PVL semis with five-set win over UP Lady Maroons

ARELLANO University outlasted University of the Philippines, 22-25, 25-10, 25-19, 32-34, 15-3, on Saturday to book a semis seat in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Chiefs notched their fourth win in five matches and were the first from Group B to secure a semis berth.

Arellano skipper Jovielyn Prado scored 26 points, with 23 kills and had 17 excellent receptions.

Regine Arocha added 25 points, Necole Ebuen had 15 points and Andrea Marzan chipped in 10.

Arellano will face Adamson University in the best-of-three semis.

“After ng game namin sa Adamson malaki ng in-adjust naming kasi ang laki talaga ng kakulangan namin. Napakaganda na mahaba ang preparation namin before sa UP,” said Arellano coach Obet Javier.

Diana Carlos had 29 points and Isa Molde scored 20 for the Lady Maroons, who ended their campaign with a 3-2 win-loss record.
