COACH Obet Javier is glad to see NCAA titleholder Arellano advance to the PVL semifinals, especially with a five-set win over the UAAP side University of the Philippines.

Javier told the Lady Chiefs the outcome of the match doesn’t matter much, stressing that their goal in participating in the commercial league is to improve before they start their title retention bid in the NCAA in November.

The Lady Chiefs gave their coach a welcome gift after missing a match to have gallstones removed, although the win was a nailbiter, with Arellano needing five sets to get past UP.

The semifinals start on October 7.
