UNBEATEN teams De La Salle and Ateneo face lowly counterpart University of the East and University of the Philippines, respectively, when the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament resumes Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.

The top-seeded Lady Spikers stake their perfect 5-0 slate against the winless Lady Warriors at 4 p.m., even as the defending champion Lady Eagles (4-0) clash with the Lady Maroons in the 2 p.m. curtain raiser.

League top gunner Ara Galang is again expected to show the way for La Salle as the former Rookie of the Year currently shows the way in scoring with a total of 105 points, with reigning MVP and Ateneo team captain Alyssa Valdez a far second with 81 points.

The Lady Warriors, winless in five games, meanwhile will rely on skipper Shaya Adorador and Leuseht Dawis with the hope of ending their losing woes.

Meanwhile, the Lady Eagles also return to action for the first time since bagging the bronze medal in last year’s Asian University Games in Palembang, Indonesia.

Valdez will be at the forefront anew of the Lady Eagles’ offense as the defending champions face a UP side (2-3) that boasts of the dreaded trio of Nicole Tiamzon, Kathy Bersola, and Angeli Araneta.

The Lady Maroons, who ended 2014 with a dominant 25-14, 25-19, 25-16 win over the Lady Warriors, are aiming to put on a blemish on the Lady Eagles’ spotless record.
