ALYSSA Valdez will not see action in the national team showcase on Monday at The Arena in San Juan.

Creamline management did not grant Valdez the go signal to play in the event dubbed “Clash of Heroes” due to the team’s tight schedule and to avoid any injury.

The Cool Smashers are seeing action in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.

“We regret to inform you that Alyssa Valdez will not be able to participate in the Clash of Heroes event on May 15, 2017,” said Creamline co-team managers Rolando Delfino and Alan Acero in a statement.

Clash of Heroes, organized by the PSC-POC Media Group, is one of the events being held before the coaching staff reveals the final 18 that will represent the country in the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in on August.

The letter also noted that Valdez’s tough task of leading the team as they await the clearance of imports American Laura Schaudt and Thai Kuttika Kaewpin.

Although it’s already halfway through the tournament, no foreign player has played due to the lack of International Transfer Certificates from the FIVB.

“The Creamline Cool Smashers are in the middle of a tight tournament schedule in the Premier Volleyball League, where Aly has played in straight game days and has had to do more for the team in light of the continuing delay of the release of the ITCs required for our imports to play,” said in the statement. “We cannot risk injury to her from overplay.”

Creamline, whose mother company is Republic Biscuit Corporation, expressed its full support to the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. and the Philippine volleyball.

Rebisco has teamed up with the Philippine Super Liga to send a team in the 2017 AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship in Kazakhstan later this month.
