ALYSSA Valdez will have to find time to go to the Cebu or Davao tryouts if she is to make a bid to join the national women’s volleyball team as she is certain to miss the Manila leg set later this month.

Valdez is now in Thailand, set to make her debut with 3BB Nakornnont in Thai League on January 29th - the second of three days in the Manila tryouts set by coach Francis Vicente and the national federation.

The Cebu and Davao tryouts are expected to be held next month, the final dates yet to be determined, while Valdez’s Thai schedule also is still uncertain,.

But Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. is still confident things will work out.

"Nakapag-usap kami noong Saturday na uuwi daw siya para sa tryouts," said LVPI vice president Peter Cayco during the PSA Forum on Tuesday.

A source said airline seats have already been booked for Valdez, although the dates were not revealed.

“May ticket na siya, round trip, para makapag tryout siya,” said the source.

In top form ahead of her Thai stint, an appearance at any of the trials may be enough for Valdez to gain a spot in the national squad.

LVPI has yet to announce which players they have invited for the Manila tryouts.

If she really wants to play for the national team, kailangan niyang pumunta sa tryouts, no special treatment."
