PHILIPPINE team skipper Alyssa Valdez was pleased to see teen star EJ Laure deliver for the national squad even though they lost the match against Chinese-Taipei on Tuesday in the 2015 Asian Under-23 Women’s Volleyball Championship at the Philsports Arena.

The 17-year-old Laure, a University of Santo Tomas rookie, came off the bench and scored four crucial points and also played good defense.

“EJ is an excellent volleyball player lagi nagdedeliver kung kinakailangan,” she added.

Valdez had earlier praised Laure and teammate Ria Meneses for their hard work during the first few days of the Philippine team’s training and sees a bright future for the UST duo.
