UP Maroons end Spikers Turf stint on bright note, deny NCBA Wildcats outright semis spot

ALSO-ran University of the Philippines ended its Spikers' Turf stint on a bright note and denied National College of Business and Arts an automatic entry to the semifinals with a 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-11 win on Wednesday in the Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

NCBA will battle La Salle in a playoff match on Saturday at 5 p.m. for a place in the last four.

The Wildcats and Green Archers are tied for fourth with 3-4 win-loss records.

Alfred Valbuena scored 26 points, John Millete added 13, Wendel Miguel added 12 and Julius Raymundo chipped in 10 for UP

NCBA guest player Edwin Tolentino scored 24 points, while Jason Canlas and Paul Domingo contibuted 11 points apiece.
