ADAMSON announced on Friday the appointment of Domingo Custodio as the interim coach of the Lady Falcons in the UAAP Season 78 women's volleyball tournament, replacing Sherwin Meneses.

Custodio is the coach of Adamson's men's volleyball side and has been tapped to take over the Lady Falcons on an interim basis, a day after Meneses' resignation caught school officials by surprise.

"While it is unfortunate that the said decision (of Meneses) has been reached midway through the season, the university passes the torch to current head coach of the Falcons men's volleyball team, coach Domingo Custodio," Adamson said in a statement released to media outlets.

Custodio, known as Coach Domeng in the local volleyball community, has led Adamson's men's team to four successive Final Four appearances in the UAAP and is now tasked to turn around the Lady Falcons' fortunes.

He takes over a Lady Falcons side that lies in seventh place with a 3-5 record and in need of a late run to make it to the playoffs.

"We trust that his fighter attitude and vast experience will rub off on the Lady Falcons while he serves as interim head coach for the remainder ofr the season," the school said.

"A league leader in the current season of UAAP men's volleyball, we wish him luck as he tries to steer the Lady Falcons to the best finish possible this season," it added.
