Adamson Lady Falcons score second straight win, deal NU Lady Bulldogs third consecutive loss

ADAMSON made it back-to-back wins, while dealing National University its third straight loss, 25-19, 25-15, 18-25, 25-13, on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Skipper Jema Galanza scored 16 points and had 11 excellent receptions, while Joy Dacoron added 13 and Mylene Paat had 11 and 12 digs for Adamson.

The Lady Falcons, coming off a tough five-set win over University of the East, evened their record, 5-5, still in fifth.

“We knew how important this match was today for us. Every game from here on out, we're playing to get to the Final Four,” said Adamson coach Air Padda. 

“We told them earlier, it's not Adamson vs. NU, it's not like a regular game. This is gonna be the basis of our survival for the season,” she added.

Jaja Santiago poured in 21 points and 11 digs for NU in the one-hour and 36-minute match.

Top of the table after the first round and still joint second last week, the Lady Bulldogs have yet to win in the second round and have slipped to joint third with Far Eastern University at 6-4.

Titleholder La Salle is on top at 8-2 followed by Ateneo at 7-3.
