NES Pamilar is keeping his focus on changing the system for the La Salle men’s volleyball team rather than looking ahead to their campaign in the UAAP.
Pamilar was recently hired to become the new head coach of the Green Spikers replacing Ron Dulay, after La Salle failed to make the Final Four last season.
The veteran coach is already preparing the Green Spikers for the UAAP, starting with their stint in the Spikers Turf Collegiate Conference. But Pamilar isn't promising anything about La Salle's upcoming UAAP campaign as he has his hands full on improving the skills of the players.
“Pagdating ko nga diyan, sabi ko, marami pa tayong adjustment. Hindi pwede ‘yung ganyan, hindi ganyan ‘yung gusto kong sistema. Sumunod lang kayo, tingnan natin yung magiging resulta,” Pamilar said.
La Salle won its Spikers Turf opener but Pamilar was not pleased as he noticed lapses with the players, especially in their teamwork.
“Unang una, ‘yung service. ‘Yung service receive, malaking problema. ‘Yung individual skills, okay lang, pero yung team hindi pa sila gaano,” said Pamilar.
“Sabi ko nga sumunod kayo, magtiyaga kayo, makikita niyo yung magiging resulta,” he added.
