BINAN — NEC Red Rockets of Japan drubbed Jakarta Electric of Indonesia, 25-16, 25-15, 35-17, on Sunday in the 2016 AVC Asian Women's Club Championship at Alonte Sports Arena.
Sarina Koga led NEC Red Rockets with 14 points from 12 kills, while Mizuki Yanagita added 12 and Kana Ono contributed 11.
Skipper Akari Oumi and Nami Sagawa each had nine markers as the Japanese squad started its campaign with a big win, joining early group leader Altay VC of Kazhakstan, which also defeated Jakarta Electrik on opening day.
The Japanese proved too much with 51 attack points against 30 by the Indonesians and had 10 blocks against one.
Indonesia team captain Aprilia Manganang had 24 points, scoring 23 of the teams 30 attacks.
The Indonesians are out of the quarterfinal race and will play in the classification round for 9th to12th placers.
