NCBA ends Spikers Turf stint on a winning note, downs San Beda in battle of also-rans

NATIONAL College of Business and Arts bowed out of the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference but ended the stint on a high note, beating San Beda, 20-25, 25-23, 30-28, 36-34, on Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Jason Canlas scored 27 points from 26 attacks, Fernan Guazon added 19 points and Darul Valenzuela chipped in 16 markers as Wildcats ended their campaign with an even win-loss mark of 2-2.

The Red Spikers are also out of the tournament with a win in four outings.

"Natutuwa ako dun, kasi big accomplishment, nagawa nila makapagsabayan naipanalo pa yung game," Wildcats head coach Ernesto Balubar said.

"Yun ngang makipagsabayan, masaya na ako yung manalo pa, it's a bonus."

Adrian Viray paced the Red Spikers with 14 points, guest player Peter Torres added 12 points and Mark Enciso added 10 markers.
