AFTER denying San Sebastian a three-peat, College of St. Benilde team captain Jeanette Panaga is on track to spoil SSC ace Grethcel Soltones’ campaign for a third straight MVP award in the NCAA Season 92 women’s volleyball tournament.

Defending champion CSB currently holds a 5-1 win-loss card behind unbeaten SSC (6-0), but Panaga is ahead of Soltones in the scoring and leads the rest of the players in blocking.

Panaga has a total of 102 points, from 68 spikes, 17 kill blocks and 17 aces, while Soltones is next in line with 97 points and San Beda’s Francesca Racraquin is at the third spot (96).

The Season 91 Finals MVP proved she's the two-time best blocker for a reason as she also leads the blocking department with an average of 0.68 per set. Perpetual Help’s Lourdes Clemente came in at second (10 blocks, 0.59 per set) and Mapua’s Precious Sedenio is at third (11 blocks, 0.50 per set).

Soltones, however, is on top of Panaga in terms of spikes with 43.90% success rate compared to the CSB tower’s 41.46% clip, while another Lady Blazer is in the top three as Ranya Musa is at 41.18%.

Cherry Rose Genova of Lyceum leads the service department with a total of 15 aces or .59 per serve. Jamela Suyat of University of Perpetual Help is at second with 0.76 per set and Rebecca Cuevas of San Beda has 0.68 per set to end up third.

SBC setter Vira Guillema has 12.41 average per set to lead the setting department, while Cuevas is at second with 9.91 per set. UPH playmaker Necelle Gual came in at third with 9.76 per set and last year’s winner Rhea Ramirez of Arellano has 9.26 per set.

Marjo Medalla of UPH is on top for the Best Digger award with an average of 6.00 per set. Last year's winner Alyssa Eroa of SSC has 5.59 and Glyka Medina has 5.11. Eroa is also ahead in the Best Receiver contest with 50% efficiency rating with Racraquin (37.68%) and Medalla (31.51%) rounding out the top three.

Action in the NCAA single-round robin elimination round resumes on January 4.
