COLLEGE of St. Benilde moved one win away from its first title in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament after a masterful 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 25-16 victory over San Sebastian on Friday at The Arena in San Juan.
Janine Navarro, Jeanette Panaga and Ranya Musa each had 16 points for the Lady Blazers, who entered the finals with a thrice-to-win disadvantage against a SSC team that swept its nine games in the eliminations.
Benilde, which took Game One, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19, 25-13, on Tuesday, can complete one of the biggest turnarounds in league history with another victory in Game Three on Tuesday.
San Sebastian now needs to sweep the last two games of the series to win the championship.
