Mark Enciso, Alfie Mascarinas show way as Lions down Pirates to take solo fourth in NCAA volleyball

SAN Beda downed Lyceum of the Philippines University, 21-25, 27-25, 25-13, 25-18, on Monday to take solo fourth spot in the NCAA volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.

Mark Christian Enciso scored 21 and skipper Alfie Mascarinas added 18 as the Lions scored their fifth win in eight matches.

Mascarinas got all his points from kills, while Enciso scored on 17 spikes, two blocks and another two on service aces.

Joeward Presnede scored 15 for the Pirates, who suffered their fifth loss in eight outings.

In women's play, San Beda dragged LPU further out of the top four with a 21-25, 25-23, 25-15, 21-25, 15-12 win.

It was the Lionesses' third win in eight outings while the Lady Pirates fell to their fourth setback against the same number of wins, a full game behind No. 4 Perpetual Help.
