Rookie Lourdes Clemente stars as Perpetual Help downs EAC to gain share of second in NCAA volley

UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help downed Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23, on Thursday to gain a share of second spot in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Rookie Lourdes Clemente scored 15 points, while skipper Jamela Suyat had 11 as the Lady Altas scored their sixth win in seven outing to join San Sebastian behind unbeaten Arellano (6-0).

Charmille Belleza had 14 markers for EAC, which dropped to sixth spot at 2-5.

College of St. Benilde bounced back from a loss and kept San Beda College winless, 25-9, 25-11, 25-15.

Jeanette Panaga had with 12 points for CSB, which recovered from a three-set loss to the Lady Altas on Monday.

The Lady Blazers needed only 55 minutes to finish the match and improve their record to 5-1.

Jannine Navarro scored nine for St. Benilde, Camille Gequillana added seven and Kym Ramos had six.

Debbie Dultra made six points for San Beda (0-5).
