SAN Sebastian star Grethcel Soltones added another feather to her cap after winning her third consecutive MVP award in the NCAA Season 92 women’s volleyball tournament.
The graduating power spiker from Catmon Cebu, who steered SSC to four finals appearances in her five years with the Recto-based squad, received the award on Friday before the Game Two of the Finals series at The Arena in San Juan.
Soltones, who’s hoping to leave her alma mater with a championship, was also named first best outside spiker as she has a 44.61 percdnt success rate in attacks.
Arellano ace Jovielyn Prado was the second best outside spiker, while University of Perpetual Help stalwarts Lourdes Clemente and Coleen Bravo were the first best middle blocker and second best middle blockers, respectively.
Jose Rizal University hitter Karen Montojo was the best opposite spiker, SSC playmaker Vira Guillema was the best setter and SSC defense specialist Alyssa Eroa was the best libero.
San Beda’s rising star Francesca Racraquin emerged as the Rookie of the Year.
Meanwhile, in the juniors' division, Lyceum University bagged five individual honors led by Genesis Redido, who was named MVP.
LPU playmaker Sean Escallar was named best setter, Valeriano Sasis III and Allen Calicdan were the first and second best middle blockers, respectively, while Juvic Colonia was the Rookie of the Year.
Rounding up the awardees were Ederson Rebusora and Francis Casas of Emilio Aguinaldo College as the first and second best outside hitters while Arellano duo Zackhaery Dablo and Robbie Pamittan were named best libero and best opposite spiker, respectively.
