Myla Pablo jumps up two spots in MVP race but keeps focus on another Pocari title run

Pocari top hitter Myla Pablo now runs second behind Diana Carlos in the PVL Open MVP race.

POCARI Sweat top hitter Myla Pablo would rather focus on her team's success rather than her own numbers despite eclipsing Creamline star Alyssa Valdez in the MVP race of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.

From No. 4, Pablo moved up to the No. 2 spot with a total of 114 points, six points ahead of Valdez (108) and five points shy of leader Diana Carlos (119) of University of the Philippines.

But the former National University ace seemed unaware of her feat.

“Stats? Alin po?” Pablo asked a handful of reporters after Pocari Sweat defeated Adamson University, 25-23, 25-14, 25-19, at The Arena in San Juan.

Pablo, who tallied for 17 points, is also currently the second best spiker with a 41.27 efficiency rate.

Still, she insisted that her main goal is to win a title and continue Pocari Sweat’s winning tradition.

“Hindi po, kasi ang mindset ko is hindi award. ‘Yung gusto ko mag-champion and matulungan ko ang teammates ko,” she said.
