DEFENDING champion Pocari Sweat beat Adamson University, 25-23, 25-14, 25-19, on Sunday to secure at least a playoff for a semifinal spot in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Mala Pablo scored 17 points, while Tai Nepomuceno added 14 for the Lady Warriors.
Coming off a four-set loss to Creamline last week, the Lady Warriors improved to 4-1, matching Air Force which earlier beat Power Smashers.
Pocari Sweat coach Rico de Guzman says he is far from satisfied despite winning in straight sets.
Jeanette Panaga, Elaine Kasilag and Desiree Dadang each had six markers for Pocari Sweat, while setter Gyzelle Sy tossed 24 excellent sets in the one-hour and 14-minute match.
Jema Galanza scored 11 for Adamson, which dropped to 1-4.
