NATIONAL University extended its win run to three, downing winless University of the East, 25-12, 25-13, 25-16, on Sunday in the UAAP women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
Jaja Santiago scored 11 points, while the 11 other Lady Bulldogs who were fielded registered at least a point as NU continued its winning ways after dropping the season opener to two-time defending champion Ateneo.
Skipper Myla Pablo finished with nine points, while her younger sister Maritess and Aiko Urdas chipped in six markers each for NU.
The Lady Bulldogs had 14 service aces, four from Urdas and three from setter Ivy Perez, as they gained a share of the second spot with La Salle at 3-1.
The Lady Bulldogs defeated fancied La Salle on Wednesday.
“Malaking bagay sa inyo ’yun eh, winning against a strong team.
“From there you should not look back. Marami pang laro, first round pa lang.
Celine Elaiza Domingo and Shaya Adorador scored five points each for the Lady Warriors, who have lost 48 straight matches.
UE shares the bottom with University of Santo Tomas at 0-3.
