SERBIAN mentor Moro Branislav has been named as training director for both the men’s and the women’s national volleyball team that will see action in the 29th Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. appointed the 59-year old tactician to plan a training program for the national team while men’s head coach Sammy Acaylar and women’s coach Francis Vicente will still call the shots for their respective squads.
“The objective here is to give local coaches a chance to pick Moro’s brain when it comes to training and preparation,” said a source on Monday.
LVPI believes that Branislav’s vast international experience is a big boost for the national team in its campaign for the biennial meet.
Branislav has already coached numerous clubs, as well as in Greece, Romania, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya, Belarus and North Korea, where he mentored club teams before he took the post as head coach for Foton.
He has also worked with the national teams of Yugoslavia, Serbia, Zaire and Romania.
