FAR Eastern University looks to tighten its hold of fourth spot, while fifth-running Adamson University tries to keep its semifinal hopes alive in the 76th UAAP women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Tamaraws are coming off a huge 26-24, 25-18, 25-18 win over the University of Santo Tomas Tigresses on Sunday that improved their win-loss record to 6-5.
The Lady Falcons, on the other hand, look to bounce back after bowing to Ateneo, 22-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-18, 13-15.
The match starts at 4 p.m.
"Hopefully manalo, para mas sure sa Final Four," said FEU coach Shaq de los Santos, who hopes to get big numbers from rookie Bernadette Pons, Mary Palma and Geneveve Casugod.
"Pero hindi madaling kalaban ang Adamson, mature ang players kaya kailangan namin mag-focus."
The Lady Falcons led by Bhebs Pineda, Mylene Paat and Mayeth Zapanta committed numerous errors in their previous game and will look to limit the miscues as they try to improve their 5-6 card.
National University is fancied to seal the No. 2 spot in the semifinals as it takes on winless University of the Philippines at 2 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs have a 10-1 record, behind only league-leading La Salle (11-0).
