AFTER back-to-back runner-up finishes in the UAAP, Ateneo suffered yet another major blow as top hitter Michelle Morente was cut from the team due to academic deficiency.
A source told SPIN.ph that the opposite spiker, who helped Ateneo win back-to-back UAAP titles in Seasons 76 and 77, was out of the Lady Eagles roster.
It was Morente’s second time in three years to sit out due to academic problems.
In 2015, the 22-year old hitter was also ruled ineligible to play for the UAAP Season 78 along with Ana Gopico for failing to make Ateneo’s academic cut.
