FAR Eastern University got back on the winning track, downing National University 25-22, 25-21, 25-21, on Sunday in the UAAP women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Tamaraws regained third spot with their fourth victory in seven matches, while the Lady Bulldoogs slipped to fourth spot with an even 3-3 card.

Bernadeth Pons scored 18 points and Toni Basas added 16 as FEU bounced back after a five-set loss to Adamson.

“Unang una thank you kay Lord at nagbunga ’yung medyo naging hard training namin after ng talo namin sa Adamson,” said FEU coach Shaq delos Santos.

“Good factor para sa game namin kanina were so happy kaya nanalo kami in three sets.”

But De los Santos noted he is not entirely happy with their first round performance.

“Ako honestly speaking ’di ako kuntento. Adjustment andoon pa eh, hopefully sa second round masagot namin ang problema naming,” he said.

FEU took a comfortable 10-4 lead in the third set and never let NU back in the match.

Jaja Santiago and Jasmine Nabor led the way for NU with 16 points apiece, while Jorelle Singh added 10 markers.
