MARY Joy Baron stepped up as La Salle recovered from a stunning loss with a straight-sets win over Adamson on Saturday in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Arena in San Juan.
Baron had nine points highlighted by three service aces as the Lady Spikers eased past the Lady Falcons, 25-13, 25-13, 25-16.
It was a huge result for La Salle, which suffered a four-set loss to the National University Lady Bulldogs last week.

The Lady Spikers improved its win-loss record to 3-1, moving to second spot behind unbeaten Ateneo at 3-0.
Adamson, meanwhile, suffered its second straight loss after an opening-day victory.

Ara Galang was the only player to score in double digits, registering 10, while Kim Fajardo added nine.
May Roque had nine points, while the usually reliable Jessica Galanza came up with just six for Adamson.
