PLDT Home Ultera overcame Navy, 25-14, 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, on Saturday to close in on third place in the Spikers Turf at The Arena in San Juan.
Mark Gil Alfafara led the way with 20 hits including 17 on kills, Kheeno Franco scored 17, Henry James Peca-A had 12 and Jayson Ramos contributed 10 markers as Ultrafast Spikers gained a 1-0 edge in their best-of-three series.
Razzel Palisoc led the Sailors with 16 points and Nur Amin Madsairi added 12.
