    Marck Espejo stars as Ateneo wallops UST for third straight win in PVL Collegiate Conference

    MARCK Espejo led Ateneo to an easy, 25-21, 25-17, 25-18, win over University of Santo Tomas in the men’s division of the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.

    Espejo, the three-time UAAP MVP, poured in 17 points, anchored on 13 attacks, and eight excellent digs for an all-around performance.

    Ishmael Rivera also had 10 points and Karl Baysa added nine markers for Ateneo, which remained unbeaten in three outings.

    Joshua Umandal finished with 13 points for UST, which dropped to 2-1.

    Meanwhile, Far Eastern University defeated La Salle, 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18.

    John Paul Bugaoan produced 17 points for FEU, while Redjohn Paler had 14, Richard Solis made 13 and Jude Garcia finished with 11.

    FEU is tied with UST at the second spot.

    Arjay Onia had 19 points for La Salle, which absorbed its second straight loss in three matches.
