MARCK Espejo powered Rebisco-Philippines in demolishing Philippine Army, 25-12, 25-20, 25-8, on Thursday in the 2019 Spikers’ Turf Reinforced Conference at Paco Arena.

Espejo led the national team’s collective effort with 13 points, while Mark Alfafara delivered 10 hits as they already won four of their five exhibition games in the men’s volleyball league organized by Sports Vision.

“Nag rotate lang talaga kami sa ilang tao eh, kumbaga kasi ‘yung iba naglaro kanina, tapos may problema ‘yung ibang player kaya nag rotate lang kami sa i-ilang tao kaya siguro mas maganda ‘yung laro,” said assistant coach Dong Dela Cruz speaking for head coach Dante Alinsunurin, who is in Japan.

No Trooper scored in double figures with PJ Rojas leading the way with seven points.

Meanwhile, reigning Reinforced Conference champion Air Force-Go for Gold kept Coast Guard winless in five games, 25-15, 24-26, 25-18, 25-19.

Ranran Abdilla erupted with 24 points built on 18 attacks, five aces, and a block, while Kim Malabunga delivered the killer blows and had 15 points on 11 attacks, three blocks and an ace.

“Medyo nag relax kasi kami nung third set kaya ganon ang nangyari, nawalan kami ng depensa sa likod, ‘di rin kami maka-block so nung fourth set doon kami nag adjust sa blockings, at least naka recover kami kaagad,” said Verayo.

Esmail Kasim unleashed 21 points for Coast Guard in a losing effort staying winless in five games tied with idle Easytrip.

Earlier, Instituto Estetico Manila erased a two-set deficit before taking down Animo, 17-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18, 15-10, for its first win in five games.

Former San Beda star Mark Enciso powered IEM with 19 points, while Razzel Palisoc had 18 markers.

“Well masaya, kasi sunod sunod, four games na talo kami eh. Masaya, kahit papaano nagawa namin ‘yung mga kulang namin sa previous games,” said IEM head coach Pathie Jamiri.
