CIGNAL HD repulsed the Megabuilders, 25-23, 25-17, 22-25, 25-22 to bag the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference crown at the Filoil Flying V Centre on Wednesday.

The HD Spikers won the first two sets, sputtered in the third, before showing championship poise late in the final frame to bring home their second straight championship.

At the forefront of their attack in fourth set were skipper Ysay Marasigan and Finals MVP Saku Capate, who finished with 17 and 16 points, respectively.

Cignal coach Oliver Almadro was all praises for his two prized wards after the match.

"Ysay will be Ysay Marasigan. If I am giving Finals MVP, I'm giving it to him and Capate," Almadro said.

But he was quick to laud the rest of his players, whose sacrifice worked wonders for the team.

"Ang nangyari is they believed in the system, then pinakita nila na ang maturity, mental toughness will win this for them," he said.

Fauzi Ismail led Volley Bolt with 21 points, while Kim Malabunga had 14.

Meanwhile, Air Force wound up third with an easy 25-22, 25-20, 25-23 win over Sta. Elena earlier in the day.
