UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas came up with enough energy this time as it played a second straight five-set match, downing Adamson on Saturday in the UAAP Season 79 volleyball tournament The Arena in San Juan.
Manuel Medina showed the way as UST won over Adamson, 30-28, 23-25, 25-23, 10-25, 15-12, to bounce back from a five-set loss to University of the Philippines.
The Tigers scored their third win in five matches.
Medina came up with 17 points, skipper Arnold Bautista Jr. had 14 points and 15 digs, Isaiah Icalina chipped in 12 points and Jayvee Sumagaysay scored 11.
The Falcons, who snapped a four-game skid with a straight-sets win over University of the East, dropped to 1-5.
Jerome Sarmiento scored 19 points, while Paolo Pablico and John Philip Yude combined for 23 markers for Adamson.
