DEFENDING champion La Salle vented its ire on erstwhile co-leader National University, scoring a 29-27, 25-16, 25-21 victory on Sunday in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Spikers, coming off a straight sets loss to surprise leader University of the Philippines, got back on track and scored its third win in four matches.
UP is alone on top with a 4-0 win-loss mark.
Ernestine Tiamzon scored 17 for La Salle, Eduke Ogunsanya had 11 points and last year’s Finals MVP Kim Dy scored nine.
The Lady Spikers, who needed an hour and 22 minutes to finish the match, scored 14 service aces.
Jaja Santiago scored 13 points for NU.
