STA. ROSA, Laguna — Majoy Baron retained her Best Middle Blocker title while Dawn Macandili was hailed as Best Libero of the ASEAN Grand Prix Second Leg on Sunday at the Sta. Rosa Multi-purpose Gym.
After settling for a second bronze medal in as many legs of the regional tournament, the Philippines settled for two individual awards care of Baron and Macandili, who stood on on defense for the home team.
Baron, who averaged 6.7 points and had a total of seven kill blocks in three matches, got her second straight best blocker award despite the decline in her first leg numbers of 12.3 points per game and total of 15 kill blocks.
The two De La Salle standouts joined MVP Pleumjit Thinkaow, Best Spiker Pimpichaya Kokram of Thailand, Best Setter Tri Retno Mutiara and Best Server Ratri Wulandari of Indonesia.
