ATENEO middle blocker Maddie Madayag is set to undergo surgery on her right knee on Saturday at St. Luke's Medical Center in Taguig.

The second-year Lady Eagle suffered an ACL tear during team practice two weeks ago.

"Maddie's operation will be scheduled this Saturday at St. Luke's Global," said Ateneo team manager Tony Boy Liao.

Madayag, 18, is expected to make a full recovery and rejoin the Lady Eagles' core next season, especially with Amy Ahomiro playing her final year.

“She’s young and she’s strong she’s gonna come back stronger,” said Ahomiro in an earlier interview.

Madayag spent the Holy Week in Davao before returning to Manila for the surgery.

Ateneo, which already secured a spot in the semis, resumes its title bid on April 2 when it takes on Adamson.
