MADDIE Madayag will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury, the Ateneo Lady Eagles team manager confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.
“Confirmed ACL. For surgery na po siya. Surgery, after Holy Week,” said
Lady Eagles team manager Tony Liao said in a text message to Spin.ph after orthopedic surgeon Dr. Raul Canlas informed the team of the test results.
Madayag injured her right knee during drills on Tuesday evening at the Blue Eagle gym.
Veteran Amy Ahomiro and sophomore Bea de Leon now need to step up as the Lady Eagles miss the services of Madayag, the player from Davao who emerged as the leagues’ best server in the first round.
The Lady Eagles are in provisional first place with an 8-2 win-loss record.
