SIX players from the Philippine women’s volleybal team that saw action in the last Asian Games will not be able to join the trip to Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand for the 26th Asian Cup.

Kim Fajardo, Jaja Santiago, her sister Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Kim Dy, Majoy Baron and Dawn Macandili are out for the tournament set from September 17-23.

“May mga nawala pero may mga papalit naman galing sa pool,” said assistant coach Kungfu Reyes on Friday at Arellano Gym in Taft Avenue.

Fajardo, who is nursing a knee injury, will be out for four weeks while the Santiago sisters will see action in the V League Premier in Japan.

“Kakakuha ko lang ng resulta and ang advice ng doctor is four weeks (rest),” said Fajardo.

The La Salle trio of Dy, Baron and Macandili will fly to New York as part of the Lady Spikers' incentive for winning the UAAP Season 80 title.
